AGM technology batteries are maintenance-free batteries. Sealed batteries with one-way valves to allow gases to escape, thus preventing high-pressure build-up in the batteries, and also have a relatively long lifespan.
The rechargeable batteries are lead-lead dioxide systems. The dilute sulfuric acid electrolyteis absorbed by separators and plates and thus immobilized. Should the battery be accidentallyovercharged producing hydrogen and oxygen, special one-way valves allow the gases toescape thus avoiding excessive pressure build-up. Otherwise, the battery is completely sealedand is, therefore, maintenance-free, leak proof and usable in any position.
