What does 3+N mean?

  • 3 – The three main components: Rack Power, Modular Power, and System Power.
  • N – Unlimited flexibility to assemble MEAN WELL products according to project needs.
    For example: combining 20 DRP‑3200 units with the CMU2 monitoring module.

Main System Components

 

1. CMU2 Digital Power Management System

Remote monitoring and control for power supplies via PMBus or CAN interfaces.
User-friendly GUI for monitoring and maintenance.
Example: In Taiwan, a CMU2 controlled 48 DRP-3200 units for a laser system.

2. System Power – Custom Power Solutions

Power range from 3,200 W to 128 kW, with voltage variation between 23.5 V and 58.8 V.
Cabinet configurations can be tailored to application requirements (e.g., laser, industrial use).

3. Smart Lighting Control Solutions

A. DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface)
Supports versions 1.0 and 2.0.
Easy control and grouping of lighting systems under the DALI protocol.
Example: 20 LCM‑40DA units divided into three groups quickly and easily.
Products include: LCM‑25DA2, LCM‑40DA2, XLG‑100‑DA2, and more.

B. KNX – Building Automation
Supports the KNX protocol for residential and industrial buildings.

4. Burn-in Power Recycling

 

Optimizes the burn-in process in factories.
