Voltage Converters DC to AC Inverter

DC/AC Voltage Inverters are electrical voltage converters that convert direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). The voltage inverter allows the operation of electrical devices and equipment that run on AC power when there is a DC power source, such as batteries, solar panels, and so forth.

Electricity inverters that produce AC voltage are designed to operate electrical/electronic devices and equipment in locations where there is no direct access to the main power grid.

There are two types of voltage inverters, Off-Grid Inverters:

  1. Pure Sine Wave Power Inverters (TRUE OR PURE SINE WAVE POWER)
  2. Modified Sine Wave Power Inverters (MODIFIED SINE WAVE POWER INVERTERS)

A pure sine wave inverter is intended for and used with equipment sensitive to the input voltage waveform or equipment with a Power Factor Correction (PFC). It is also suitable for motorized equipment like power tools and other sensitive applications.

The modified sine wave inverter is suitable for electronic and electrical equipment except for motors, compressors, amplification systems, or equipment with PFC.

Voltage inverters are used for a wide range of applications, such as:

  • Operating/charging devices from a vehicle
  • Operating/charging devices from a DC source
  • Operating equipment from backup systems
  • Operating equipment/devices in the field, in reserve duty, and in off-road vehicles
  • Powering caravans and solar homes not connected to the electricity grid
  • Powering boats at sea
  • Operating equipment in command posts and/or mobile offices
  • Enabling electricity generation through solar facilities/solar systems

Additionally, there is another type of inverter, the On-Grid Inverter, a pure sine wave inverter that connects to the national power grid on the AC side and to a solar panel on the DC side. This inverter is used to generate solar electricity, with power produced from sunlight and supplied directly to the electricity company.
