Server Room Planning Tips

Designing a Server Room

Designing a server room requires expertise and knowledge in electrical systems, UPS systems, communication solutions, monitoring, control, and air conditioning systems. Usually, multiple roles and consultants are needed to properly plan a computer and server room.

Today, you can receive professional consulting under one roof, including the planning of electrical infrastructure, specification and supply of UPS systems, and communication equipment (including server and communication cabinets) along with all monitoring and control equipment for the room. The consultation is without any obligation, and the advantage is that the entire solution is provided under one roof—ensuring complete synergy between the design and construction of electrical infrastructure, electrical panels, specification and installation of UPS systems, cabinets, and communication equipment, all managed by a single installation team from a company that will support you throughout the process with warranties, service, and maintenance for the entire solution.

Advice Electronics has installed hundreds of integrated projects for server room solutions for a wide range of clients, meeting their satisfaction.

Selected Recent Projects by Advice Electronics:

A Leading Construction Company in Israel Chose Advice’s Solution for Its Server Room

In June, Advice Electronics installed a comprehensive solution for the server room of one of the leading construction companies in Israel. The solution included the specification and planning of the server room according to client requirements and the actual physical space. This involved the planning and execution of electrical infrastructure, the design, production, and installation of electrical panels and automatic transfer switches, the installation of UPS systems for protection and backup of the computing and communication systems, supply of server cabinets, managed PDUs allowing control and monitoring of the company’s servers, and control, monitoring, and alarm systems, including the installation of sensor arrays (smoke, flooding, door opening). The entire solution was installed by Advice's service team, which will continue to support the solution with maintenance and servicing for the coming years.

A Large Municipality in Central Israel Chose Advice Electronics’ Backup Solutions

Advice Electronics will provide one of the large municipalities in central Israel with a range of protection and backup solutions to meet municipal requirements. Among other things, Advice Electronics will supply and install outdoor UPS systems, providing protection and backup for products located outside the air-conditioned room. These systems can withstand temperatures of up to 74 degrees Celsius and are practically the only systems capable of providing backup during power outages for consumers in urban environments. Additionally, Advice will supply, upon request, hundreds of UPS units with double conversion technology and pure sine wave output for a wide range of products and consumers according to the municipality’s requirements.

A Consumer Goods Chain with Over 25 Branches Chose Advice’s Solutions for Its Server Room

The nationwide chain selected Advice Electronics’ solution, which includes the design, production, and installation of an automatic transfer switch for a UPS system with double conversion technology and a battery enclosure providing each branch with approximately three hours of operation during a power outage. The system is monitored by an internal SNMP card that transmits all data and the status of the server room to a mobile phone.

Advice Electronics Installed a Modular UPS System in a Government Security Office

Advice Electronics Ltd. installed two modular UPS systems for one of the government offices dealing with sensitive areas. The MATRIX series modular UPS systems provide TIER 4 parallel protection and backup. In this system, Advice Electronics installed, according to client requirements, two modular UPS cabinets, each containing three 90 kVA modules (totaling 180 kVA). This solution offers nearly 100% resilience for the facility requiring backup.

A Leading University in Israel Chose Advice Electronics for Its Server Backup

The server array of one of Israel's leading universities chose Advice Electronics’ modular UPS system. The modular UPS system from the MATRIX series provides protection and backup for the entire server array of the university. The advantage of this solution is the ability to increase backup power according to the university's future demands by adding power modules. Another advantage is resilience; if maintenance of one module is required, the UPS system continues to operate. The module can be removed for maintenance (hot swap) and then reinserted without needing to shut down the system.
