A unique application for monitoring charging systems
The vehicle manufacturers realized that in order to sell electric vehicles, they would be required to provide, along with the vehicle, charging options, for home and on the road.
In order to make order and allow the manufacturers of the chargers to talk to the vehicles, a global corporation of opinion leaders in the field of electric vehicles was established,
OCA (Open Charge Alliance), to promote standards in the field.
It was decided on a uniform applied communication protocol OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) between charging stations and electric vehicles
and a central management system that even Advis supports.
Load activation options
• Plug&Play (automatic operation) – advantage: simple, disadvantage: open to any vehicle
• RFID (tags) - advantage: control over users, disadvantage: requires a tag for each provider
• Application - requires only a mobile phone and has many advantages. Disadvantage: requires cellular communication
Application and its uses
• Starting/stopping charging from anywhere - whether at home or on the road (by registering with a charging provider)
• Monitoring of electricity consumption (time, current, power, estimated cost)
• Maximum charging limit (to a percentage of the battery) - it is not healthy to charge 100%. Releasing the payload to other users
• Limiting the charging current to a group of loads - for example a parking lot
Viewing the loading history - can be used by condominiums, employers, public providers for financial accounting
• Setting up charging profiles - two main reasons: smaller load at night, tariff price
• Giving sharing permissions - to family members, employees or customers
• Notifications – end of charging, charger has disconnected or malfunctioned
Load management system
• Allows charging of several vehicles at the same time
• Maintains the stability and safety of the electricity supply
• Regulation of load distribution in a limited energy resource
central management system
• Enables viewing and operation of the charging network, checking connectivity and connector status
