PDU For Server Room and Racks

Solutions for server rooms - a strip of sockets for a PDU server cabinet

Power Distribution Unit - PDU - a system or "socket strip" that includes c 13 c 19 sockets. This is a mandatory product present in every server cabinet in the organization.

How do you connect a strip of sockets -PDU- in the communication cabinet?

The PDU socket strip is connected vertically to the back of the cabinet (0U), where 2 socket strips are connected to each cabinet (explanation below).
One feed of the server is connected to each strip of sockets (the server has 2 feeds) and communication equipment will be connected to STS and from there to one strip of sockets.

In the event of a power outage, since we use 2 feeds, the servers will continue to work and the STS-safe transfer switches system
Move the communication equipment also to a field that has electricity (usually the uninterruptible field) this is the reason why we require 2 PDU socket strips in each cabinet.

Which PDU socket band to use?

There are 3 types of socket bars: angled pdu 1 50095

A standard strip of sockets: actually a strip of sockets that connects all the consumers on the back side of the cabinet and from there to the electric circuit field

Monitored outlet strip: A strip of outlets that includes a digital monitor and shows the electrical load of those consumers connected to it,
A monitored strip actually gives the network manager or the NMR an indication of the consumption of each electric field and creating a balance between them, in addition an alert sensor can be connected to a monitored strip of sockets

Managed outlet strip: A strip of outlets that allows full remote control (via a secure web address) and enables control of each outlet at the level of connection or disconnection.

This option is of utmost importance, for example during a power outage - when a power outage notification is received, the uninterruptible power supply system goes into action
And there is an option for the network administrator or the NMR to turn off, for example, unimportant servers and thus increase the backup time for critical consumers,
Or in the event of an air conditioner failure when the temperature in the room rises, servers can be turned off remotely, thus mitigating the rise in temperature.

Advice Electronics has a variety of regular, monitored and managed PDU systems suitable for every requirement of every server room or DATA CENTER.

The Advice PDU series includes simple socket strips, monitored socket strips with the possibility of connecting one sensor and managed socket strips with the possibility of connecting up to 5 sensors.

The series include all the strict international standards and are suitable for a working temperature of 5-60 degrees Celsius.
