SolarEdge 25% More Then Others
Which solar system is the most cost-effective to install?
SOLAREDGE offers a unique solution that reduces energy losses and maximizes the solar electricity production of a net metering system by up to 25% more than other solutions.
What distinguishes the SOLAREDGE system from a standard net metering system?
Thanks to the small, smart power optimizers, the factors that reduce electricity production in a standard solar energy system are neutralized in a SOLAREDGE solar system.
What are the factors that reduce solar electricity production?
There is a vast array of reasons for the decrease in the output of a solar panel.
Now that we understand the difference between the Solaredge solar system and a standard solar electricity system, let’s go through the various cases where a gap in electricity production occurs between the collectors in a solar electricity system.
The temperature of the panels in a solar electricity production system is not uniform – the hotter the panel, the lower the output.
Shading on part of the panels or even on a single panel.
Dirt and/or limescale on the panel.
Aging of the panel – aging affects the electricity production efficiency of each collector differently.
Even when the panels are new, there is a difference in their production capabilities.
The lifespan of the panels varies, and sometimes we have to replace a panel.
Different inverters in the system.
Different angles of irradiation.
In the case of a standard system, when a faulty panel is repaired, the entire system is shut down, whereas in a Solaredge solar system, only the individual panel is disabled, and the system continues to generate electrical energy.
In summary:
In a standard net metering system, a decrease in electricity production from a single panel can affect the entire solar system and lead to a decrease in the overall electricity production output. This is especially true in cases where a single panel fails, which can disable the electricity production for the entire system until repairs are completed.
How does it actually work?
In a standard solar system, the panels (solar collectors) are connected in series. This means that the current from all the panels is determined by the weakest panel, which produces the least electrical energy. As a result, all the panels connected in series to the weakest panel produce significantly lower power.
In a Solaredge solar system, each of the solar panels is connected to its own power optimizer unit, thus not affecting the other panels. The series connection is made between the optimizer units themselves, in such a way that each contributes the power produced by the panel to which it is connected without interfering with other units. In this way, each panel transmits the highest power output to the inverter.
Considering all the variations among the panels, Solaredge technology can generate up to 25% more than any other solar system.
Important to know!
The output of a photovoltaic system decreases as it ages due to various reasons, such as the aging of the panels, dirt and limescale accumulating on the panels, and more. The investment in a net metering system is reflected in both the initial cost of the system and the return on investment over time.
The main advantage of a Solaredge solar system is its high efficiency throughout the system's lifetime. This means that a Solaredge net metering system recoups its investment faster than any other system and also produces more solar electricity (and income) throughout its lifetime.
The efficiency gap between each panel increases over time. While a standard net metering system produces electricity based on the efficiency of the weakest panel, a Solaredge solar system produces solar electricity at the maximum efficiency of each individual panel.
Losses Due to Poor Monitoring or Lack of Monitoring
Additional and Exclusive Advantages of the Solaredge System
In a standard system, when the output of a single panel in a solar energy system decreases (due to dirt, aging, or shading), the output of the entire system drops, and usually, we are not aware of it. We could easily generate more from the system, but we don’t because we are unaware that there is a problem or where the problem lies. We are forced to go panel by panel and to the inverter and cables in an attempt to locate the source of the energy loss. In a Solaredge solar system, when one panel’s output decreases, the rest of the system continues to produce energy at the same intensity. Additionally, the Solaredge monitoring system, which monitors each panel separately, indicates which panel requires inspection/repair.
The Solaredge system requires about half the cabling needed in a standard net metering system.
The cost of solar inverters in Solaredge systems is lower than that of a standard solar inverter.
In a standard system, it is necessary to position photovoltaic panels as close together as possible, with all of them facing the same direction. In a Solaredge solar system, there is maximum flexibility in the placement and design of the system, allowing the system to extract the optimal voltage from each panel.
Solar Energy Solution and Comprehensive Warranty for the System
The Solaredge electrical energy system includes panels, optimizers, and inverters. The monitoring capabilities allow for the receipt of information regarding each individual panel, thus enabling quick identification of problems.
