Router
Advice Communication markets one of the most advanced routers in the world, wireless routers, and wireless modems.
A wireless router serves as a bridge between computers and the internet.
The router has several roles in the data routing process:
- It directs incoming data to the intended computer.
- It selects the shortest path to the destination computer.
- It enables file sharing and data transfer between computers, even if they are not connected to the internet.
- It allows multiple computers to share a single internet connection.
Features of the Router:
- A router can be wireless or have a physical connection.
- It is possible to monitor the options of the connected computers, such as: setting bandwidth limits, defining hours of internet access, and blocking certain websites.
- The router filters the data coming to the computer; if it receives a data packet (information), it searches for the target computer. If there is no request for the data packet (information), it discards it. There are more advanced routers that contain a firewall.
- Some routers include a modem.
- There are home routers and industrial routers; industrial routers can support a significantly larger number of consumers (computers or other electronic devices).
